An Afghani baker was sentenced to jail by a Dubai court after found guilty of molesting a Filipina.
“No I did not do that, I’m not guilty,” said AG, 33, when he appeared at Dubai Criminal Court last month, in a report by The National.
According to prosecutors, the Filipina, JC, 34, was in a shop in Bur Dubai when AG touched her behind and neck.
The woman said she screamed at the man and hit his hand, after which he slapped her on the face, causing the woman to lose her balance and fell to the ground. AG then reportedly kicked her in the abdomen and insulted her.
“He did so in the presence of many people in the shop,” said JC, who called police.
Records show that AG confessed to kicking JC. But in court, he denied charges of molestation, insulting and physically assaulting the woman. He also claimed JC had dropped charges against him and provided the judges with a document as proof. However, he was found guilty and sent to jail. He will be deported after completing his sentence.
